Google Pixel 7 Pro is Google’s top phone for the year 2022. It is built with a glass front and back (Gorilla Glass Victus) and aluminium frame. The IP68 rating protects it from dust and up to 1.5m deep in water for 30 minutes. The phone weighs an average 212g.
An AMOLED display panel is fitted on the device that can produce 1440 x 3120 pixels on a 6.7 inches screen. The refresh rate goes up to a crisp 120Hz and brightness maxes out at 1500nits and 1000nits (HBM). The always-on display comes with HDR10+ technology.
The Pixel 7 Pro runs Android 13, which can be upgraded to Android 14. The chipset on offer is Google Tensor G2, an octa-core processor capable of a max count of 2.84GHz; the CPU is paired with Mali-G710 GPU. RAM and storage options are aplenty, with the lowest being 8GB, 128B, going all the way up to 12GB, 512GB. There’s no support for storage expansion.
The device sports 3 lenses at the back: the main camera has 50MP count (dual-pixel PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS enabled), the telephoto camera is also an impressive 48MP lens, having 5x optical zoom capabilities and OIS and dual-pixel PDAF as support, and the third camera is a 12MP ultrawide lens. Complementary features include pixel shift, dual-LED flash, and auto-HDR. Videos from the main camera can be shot at 4K, 30/60fps and 1080p 30-240fps, with support from gyro-EIS, OIS, and 10 bit HDR. The front camera has a 10.8MP lens along with auto-HDR and 4K, 30/60fps and 1080p 30/60fps features.
The phone has a big 5,000mAh power source that can be charged either by a 23W USB Type-C charger or a 23W wireless charging device. The phone also supports reverse charging. Other features include: fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, and Ultra Wideband support.
The Pixel 7 Pro comes in Hazel, Snow, and Obsidian colours.
