Google is expected to launch its Pixel 9a next year as the successor to the Pixel 8a model. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated smartphone's design and specs have surfaced on social media platforms.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a tipster @feni_book revealed the rear panel of the purported Pixel 9a model. Instead of the "G" logo, the smartphone features a completely different logo.

The purported handset is expected to sport a rear camera module without a protruding metallic border, as seen on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.

Moreover, according to the second image leaked by a tipster, the front of the Pixel 9a will appear similar to its predecessor, the Pixel 8a. The display of the leaked prototype looks like it has a centre-aligned hole punch cutout to house the selfie camera.

The smartphone is claimed to feature a 48MP Sony IMX787 sensor, identical to the sensor found in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Additionally, the phone will sport a 13MP ultrawide camera, providing versatility in capturing wider shots.

Meanwhile, for selfies, the Pixel 9a will house a 13MP front-facing camera inside a punch-hole cutout, ensuring high-quality self-portraits.

Google has not yet announced the launch date of Pixel 9a, as users are impatiently waiting for the 9 series smartphone.
