Earlier this year in February, Google introduced artificial intelligence (AI) to smartphones with its Google Gemini app.
Since then, there have been reports that Google is also working to bring this Gemini feature to the headphones.
However, now, a new “Gemini on earbuds” branding has appeared in the Google app, as spotted by 9to5Google.

An APK teardown of the Google app (version 15.31) has revealed that Google Gemini is set to be introduced on earbuds as the outlet has found a mention of this branding.
One of the strings stated: “Your new AI assistant is on headphones.” Furthermore, the code also mentions “Talk to Gemini on earbuds”.
This way, Google will allow you to access Gemini on your phones using your headphones or earbuds. Moreover, you will be able to summon Gemini using voice commands for earbuds/headphones with a functionality similar to what we have for Google Assistant.
Using your earbuds, you will be able to ask Gemini a question about a certain topic and it will give you a spoken response. It will be interesting to see how Google optimises Gemini on earbuds especially when users will ask for longer responses from the app.
Furthermore, there are reports that Google might announce this Gemini on earbuds feature alongside the upcoming Pixel Buds 2 Pro which is likely to be released later this month on August 13 with the Pixel 9 series of smartphones.
