Google is rumoured to release a significant upgrade to Quick Settings in Android 16, and one of those new upgrades may include the capability to resize individual tiles.
What are Quick Settings?
Quick Settings are a crucial component of how users interact with their devices on a regular basis, and it’s expected that Google has major plans to update this part of Android through future updates.
Earlier, it was found that Android 16 might bring a revamped Quick Settings panel that is no longer attached to the notification tray, along with displaying four tiles in a large format with several smaller icons below.

What to expect from Quick Settings update?
Android Authority spotted evidence in the latest Android 15 beta that displays that Google is set to be working on the capability to resize Quick Settings tiles, probably in preparation for Android 16.
Currently, users are allowed to move tiles to fit the order they want, but this update would also allow some tiles to be bigger than others. 1×1 and 1×2 sizes seem to be the only options, with the larger size including a label alongside an icon.
Notably, this upgrade would let users set up a denser layout for Quick Settings, retain today’s current setup with its larger tiles, or find any mix of those two.
