Currently, Gemini on iOS allows users to install the Google app and switch it to the Gemini tab. However, the updated app is expected to alter it, letting users launch with Gemini Live directly without installing any third-party app. Once installed, the app will automatically appear on the home screen, featuring a Gemini logo.

A Redditor who is able to install the app has suggested that the Google Gemini app on the App Store allows users to directly interact with the Gemini Live along with their voice.

Additionally, the app seems to be manipulating the Live Activities feature on iPhone to keep working in the background.
