Google TV Streamer and Chromecast devices have expanded a list of new “Channels” in the United Kingdom (UK), that will let users easily launch into the regional broadcast streaming services including British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Independent Television (ITV), and more within a couple of minutes.
The “Channel” panel has rolled out to Google TV Streamer and Chromecast. However, it’s still unclear if the other Google TV devices have also received the latest option or not.
Additionally, Google TV and Android TV devices don't support the “Live Channel” and “Live” tab and due to this Google TV falls short of working like a tuner. So users are only allowed to watch channels from within the supported streaming app that they have already downloaded.

Google TV Streamer still lacks support for BBC iPlayer, but on Chromecast, the “Channels” section will host BBC, ITV, Scottish Television (STV), UTV, Really, Discovery, and other free-to-air broadcast services.
However, if you haven’t installed the app, then download it from the Play Store but if you have already installed the app on your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer, then launch it to load into the live streaming channel.
Furthermore, it is important to note that you must have logged into your account before the quick launch button opens the content.
The new “Channel” section is certainly a great way to deliver an enhanced streaming experience on Google TV who prefer online streaming. It also serves to make up for the dearth of true “Live Channel” support that is currently available outside the United States (US). Users are also anticipating an increased number of compatible apps and enabling additional integration with several online streaming services.
