Google is gearing up to roll out a new feature for Google Workspace users, integrating the Chrome browser with their calendars. This exciting update aims to enhance the user’s productivity and simplify workflow management.

Google Workspace is a suite of productivity tools designed for businesses and organisations including, popular apps like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.

In this update, users of Workspace would start seeing a daily overview of their calendar when they open a new tab in Chrome and are signed in with their work account.

The overview provides access to schedules and meetings, quick links for video calls, and visibility into the files stored in Google Drive. All this would help users not to lose their stride at work.

In addition to the calendar overview, Google is announcing the rollout of other experience-enhancing updates around the Workspace.

Some of the new updates are enterprise-managed site shortcuts, which allow IT teams to set up quick links to sites they most frequently use, and granular management controls, offering profile-level security policies and managed browsing capabilities to IT teams.

It also includes a new user interface (UI) for work accounts, which clearly shows users what data their company has access to on the device. This keeps the company's personal bookmarks, extensions, and browser data separate from any work information.

These enhancements benefit users as well as IT teams. Users would have a much more streamlined workflow. IT teams can better manage separation of data in bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments and security policies.
