Google has diversified its ecosystem in artificial intelligence (AI) by announcing the expansion of its AI-centric “Help Me Write” feature for Gmail’s web variant, with reminiscent abilities available on smartphones.

Users engaged with Gmail through their browsers will now be able to use this AI tool while drafting any new email.

To access this tool, users are required to subscribe to Google One AI Premium and Workspace users along with the Gemini add-on.

The feature is capable of performing various innovative writing tasks within a couple of minutes, providing the ability to alter their messages through substantial stylistic adjustments, allowing them to expand content, concise it, enhance formality, and more.

With the “Help Me Write” feature, Alphabet-owned Google has also rolled out a ”polish” shortcut, an automated option that appears for draft messages with a word limit exceeding 12. Gmail web users would be able to access this tool by a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + H.

Furthermore, the mobile variant of Gmail will also receive a significant upgrade in the “Refine my draft” feature. Instead of requiring users to swipe through various editing options such as polish, formalise, elaborate, and shorten.

This latest upgrade will improve messages only with a single swipe of the “polish” shortcut. While the extra fine-tuning is available through Google's comprehensive suite of AI editing tools.
