Google, the biggest tech giant, has been continuously rolling out new innovative features for users, and in July 2024, it emerged that updates prioritize security and user experience across Android devices, Wear OS, Google's Android TV, Auto, and PC.

In a significant move to enhance app safety, Google's July 2024 system updates announced a new feature—the Play Protect live threat detection. This innovative feature targets apps that attempt to conceal their actions, providing an additional layer of security for users.

Play Protect utilises the Private Compute Core in your device to detect suspicious behaviour in applications. If an app is deemed potentially harmful, it will be sent to Google for further review.
