The factory reset can help you get back to playing the best PS5 games, or ensure it is safe to sell. Before you reset your PS5, you may be required to back up your game data and user settings.

How to factory reset a PS5

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu (gear icon).
  2. Select System.
  3. Select System software.
  4. Select Reset options.
  5. Select Reset your console.
  6. Select Reset.

After a few minutes, your PS5 will automatically reset itself and boot into the standard setup screen, then you would be able to play your favourite games without any problem.
