Microsoft Edge is a renowned browser which is a default internet access tool on the Windows operating system. While some users are fine while using Edge as a primary browser on Windows, others at some point experience several issues including bloatware features, security issues, and more.

The American tech giant is investing in artificial intelligence (AI) like Copilot. Microsoft Edge has become an essential part of Windows. It is available for several devices such as Chromebook, Apple, and more.

Here's how to install Microsoft Edge on Windows

  1. Firstly, launch any browser from these; Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari and open the official Microsoft Edge download page.
  2. Then accept the Microsoft software licence agreement, select your preferred language from the drop-down menu and tap on download.
  3. Now the Microsoft Edge .exe download file will be completed in a couple of minutes, and click on the file to progress with the installation wizard.
  4. After completion of the download, the Microsoft Edge browser will automatically appear on your screen.
  5. Tap on the Windows logo to launch the Microsoft Store > browser Microsoft Edge in the browser.
  6. Click on the Microsoft Edge on search results and tap the Install button.
  7. The app will automatically start to download.

Registry editor to uninstall Microsoft Edge on Windows

Registry Editor enables you to easily uninstall Microsoft Edge and here’s how to do it:

  1. Firstly, launch the Windows Registry Editor, browse "regedit," and choose Registry Editor. Now a window will eventually appear asking you to make changes in your Windows system.
  2. Double-click on the below-mentioned sequence to launch your preferred option: "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Microsoft Edge"
  3. Once you are in the Microsoft Edge folder, double-click the NoRemove option and set the value to 0. 
  4. Afterwards, restart your personal computer (PC).
  5. Click on the Settings app and tap Apps> Installed Apps > Microsoft Edge.
  6. Now select the three-dotted menu, and an uninstall option will appear, click on it to start the uninstallation. 
  7. Wait for a few minutes, Microsoft Edge will disappear in a while, once the uninstallation process ends.
