Here’s how to locate your Google TV remote using Google Home app

With the recent launch of Google TV Streamer, Google has significantly upgraded the way users interact with Google TV.

Alongside other features, the tech giant also unveiled a new Voice Remote designed specifically for its TV Streamer users and also compatible with Chromecast with Google TV devices.

The new Voice remote is priced at $20 and features a larger design, improved durability, and a customisable “star” button for quick access to favourite apps.

However, the tech giant also integrated another significant within the Google Home app that will help users find their Google TV Voice Remote.

Use your Google Home app to find Google TV remote

  1. Open the Google Home app on your device.
  2. Look for the Google TV Streamer option and tap it.
  3. Now, click the 'settings‘ option in the top-right corner.
  4. Afterward, tap ‘Find my remote.‘
  5. Next, tap ‘Play sound.‘

Once you’ve tapped the Play sound option, your remote will start making a noise that will help you locate it easily.

Locate other devices using Google Home app

Since the feature is not exclusive to Google TV Streamer, you can also find other devices such as the Onn Pro Google TV streamer. The device also displays a ‘Find my remote‘ option in the Google Home app which will help in finding the remote.

Notably, new Google TV streamers will also incorporate this feature in the future while other TVs and projectors that run Google Home won’t utilise it.
