The LEGO Ideas Polaroid OneStep camera set is a collaboration between two iconic brands that share a passion for creativity and innovation. The set was inspired by a fan submission on the LEGO Ideas platform, where anyone can propose and vote for new LEGO sets.

The fan who submitted the idea, Brent Waller, is a LEGO enthusiast and a professional 3D artist. He said he wanted to create a set that captured the nostalgia and charm of the Polaroid camera, as well as the fun and joy of instant photography.

Design process of LEGO Ideas Polaroid OneStep camera

The LEGO Ideas team worked closely with Polaroid to bring the fan’s idea to life. They faced several challenges, such as how to recreate the shape and details of the camera, how to make it functional and interactive, and how to incorporate the signature Polaroid rainbow stripe.

The final design features a realistic replica of the Polaroid OneStep camera, complete with a light brick that flashes when the shutter button is pressed, a film ejection slot that dispenses a LEGO photo tile, and a tripod mount. The set also includes a LEGO minifigure of a photographer, a photo album, and five photo tiles that can be customised with stickers.
