Here’s how to extend phone's battery life

Following are some ways you can enhance your phone’s battery

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Battery.
  3. Choose Battery protection. You'll see three options: Basic, Adaptive, and Maximum.

Maximum mode prevents the battery from charging when the level goes beyond 80%.In Basic mode, the phone stops charging when the battery has a 100% charge. Switch the Adaptive mode on if you usually charge your phone overnight.

Turn off Always On Display mode

The Always On Display (AOD) of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 shows details such as battery percentage, unread notification icons, date, and time but also reduces battery life. Here's how to turn off AOD.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap the Lock screen.
  3. Turn off the Always on Display toggle.

However, if you want the Always on Display turned on, you can avoid some battery drain by erasing the background.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Lock screen and AOD.
  3. Tap Always On Display.
  4. Turn on the “Erase background” toggle.
  5. Select “When to show.”
  6. Choose “Tap to show” to turn on the display only after you tap it.

Turn on Power saving mode

Activating the Power saving mode also helps prolong battery life by restricting a few functions.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Turn on the Power saving toggle.

Limit battery usage for apps running in the background

You can lower the battery consumption by restricting some applications.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Select Background usage limits.
  4. Click on “Put unused apps to sleep.”
