With iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, a new and updated Game Mode is available for iPhone and iPad users. This revamped Game Mode enhances the gaming experience by reducing distractions and providing smoother gameplay.

Notably, this is not the first time a dedicated Game Mode is coming to the iPhone and iPad. Earlier, in 2023, it was a hidden feature of macOS Sonoma. Now, it is making its way to iPhones and iPads, which for gaming are considered more suitable than Macbooks.

Game Mode minimises background activity, providing users with long hours of continuous gameplay. When it is on, it provides smoother graphics and quicker response times. It also delivers more responsive Bluetooth controller connections by doubling the polling rate.

  2. Now, launch a game on your iPhone.
  3. The Game Mode automatically turns on and will appear on the top of your phone’s screen.
  4. When a user exits the game, the Game Mode automatically turns off. However, one can also do this manually.

How to turn off Game Mode in iOS 18?

To disable the Game Mode manually, 

  1. Tap the pop-up alert or scroll down to navigate to the Control Center.
  2. Now, tap on Game Mode and turn it off.
