HP, an American tech company, has introduced an alternative to the LG 38GN95-B in the series 7 Pro 738pu, which features a frame rate of 60 Hz rather than 144 Hz.

However, it provides two decisive benefits. Initially, HP’s new model utilises an IPS Black panel, which sports a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, approximately double as high as a regular IPS screen.

Secondly, HP’s screen provides greater options of connectivity options, beginning with two Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C). The input can charge laptops with up to 100 watts through USB-C power delivery. However, the output lets extra accessories or even a second monitor be linked through daisy chaining. Moreover, the ports provide 15 watts of power.

Instead, it is feasible to connect the display through USB-C. There are five USB-A ports (10 Gbit/s), an additional USB-C output (10 Gbit/s) and Gigabit Ethernet at the back. Luckily, the monitor can be connected to a PC through DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0.

The 37.5-inch IPS Black panel in 21:9 formats carries a resolution of 3840 x 1600 with a pixel density of 111 PPI, a brightness of 400 nits and 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.

The screen is curved in a radius of 2,300R. 4 x 3-watt quad speakers are featured. A KVM switch and an ambient light setup sensor round off the specifications. The HP series 7 Pro 738pu monitor is available on the company’s official website for a price range of $1,249.
