Huawei, a Chinese tech giant, has removed most of the Tencent video games from the top game apps lineup of AppGallery. The accused actions hint at further disputes between Huawei and Tencent Games, following the pull-off of the famous DnF gaming app.
According to a report, AppGallery has removed several Tencent games from the top gaming app ranking. Currently, users might find three NetEase games at the top. These are Eggy Party, Identity V, and Fantasy Westward Journey.
Huawei AppGallery game ranking for June 18 displayed two Tencent games (DnF at first and The Golden Spatula at eighth place) in the top 10 list, applying the end of a dispute between the tech companies. These were the bestselling game apps in the Huawei AppGallery.
However, recent insights hint that there’s still more to resolve between these two tech makers. Huawei and Tencent have been conflicting over apps for a long time.
The removal of games like Tencent’s Honour of Kings (a popular gaming app) shocked consumers as Huawei held 43% of the Android smartphone market previously.

Although these games came back on the AppGallery within a few hours. Huawei and Tencent responded to the case that there aren’t any disputes between the two companies and they are bonded in “friendly negotiations”
Last month, things again drifted apart when the app developer pulled out its famed game “DnF (Dungeon & Fighter) from the AppGallery. The app single collects $826 million from different app stores like OPPO, Vivo, along Huawei.
Tencent briefly explained that the reason behind DnF’s removal from Huawei’s AppGallery is the contract expiration. According to the information, the contract with Chinese companies expired within a month after the respective video game was released in the market.
Huawei and Tencent’s current scenario hints at the deepening of conflict between the two tech giants. However, these conditions could turn positive in the upcoming time, following HarmonyOS NEXT expansion to the app ecosystem.
