Huawei launches Mate 70 series in China: Check prices, specs, colours, and availability

Huawei unveiled the highly anticipated Mate 70 series, including the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 Ultimate Design. These top-tier models with several innovative features and state-of-the-art technology.

The Chinese tech manufacturer has introduced a major design upgrade with an enhanced back structure and an enlarged camera module. A noticeable bump extends from the rear panel, featuring a giant circular ring that houses the camera lenses, enveloped by a diamond-cut texture on the sidebar for added aesthetics.

It is worth noting that the entire Huawei Mate 70 series operates on an Android-free operating system (OS) "HarmonyOS NEXT" operating system, which introduces compelling animations and an enhanced user interface. It improves smart connectivity with other Huawei ecosystem devices, offering several features designed for a seamless user experience.

The vanilla Mate 70 variant sports a 6.7-inch straight OLED display with a single punch hole, slim bezels, and a flat frame.

The Huawei Mate 70 comes with a 50MP camera system, a 48MP telephoto lens, and a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens, supporting 4K videography with night mode. Notably, it utilizes the in-house XMAGE imaging system, which enhances images during post-capture for superior results.

In terms of battery performance, the Mate 70 houses a 5,300 mAh battery with 66W threshold and 50W wireless charging

The Mate 70 Pro features a quad-curved 6.9-inch OLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 1-120Hz and a high touch sampling rate. It is optimised for photography enthusiasts with triple punch holes for the front cameras, including a 3D sensor for face unlock and other advanced features.

Huawei Mate 70 Pro variant has received a significant upgrade, now equipped with a 5,700mAh battery, an improvement over the 5,000mAh battery in its predecessor. It supports 100W wired and 88W wireless charging, ensuring faster and more efficient power delivery.

Huawei Mate 70 advanced AI and gaming enhancements

The series is incorporated with an enhanced Ark Engine, delivering an intriguing gaming experience. Additionally, the Huawei Mate 70 series is equipped with generative artificial intelligence (AI) and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies to activate its voice assistant. The AI also enables generative photo and video editing, among other advanced capabilities.

The Huawei Mate 70 series has garnered significant popularity among Chinese customers. The latest models received an overwhelmingly positive reaction after the pre-sale announcement, highlighting their strong market appeal.

The recently launched Mate 70 and 70 Pro are available with four tantalising hues that never fail to captivate users including Spruce Green, Hyacinth Purple, Snow White, and Obsidian Black colours.
