Huawei has unveiled its luxury electric vehicle (EV), Huaewi Maextro S800, which marks a major milestone as the inaugural model from Huawei's Maextro brand. This luxury sedan was created through a partnership between Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd (JAC) Motors.
JAC Motors is set to challenge iconic names like Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce in the high-end D+ executive sedan market. Huawei aims to establish itself as a formidable contender among the world's top luxury automakers.
The Huawei Maextro S800 is launched with a pre-sale price range of €124,320 to €186,510, making it one of the most expensive Chinese-manufactured vehicles.
Huawei smart car unit Chairman Richard Yu said that the S800 ranks in the top 0.01% of vehicles in size, highlighting its exclusive positioning.
Initially, The Huawei Maextro S800 is available in purple-silver and black, its distinct look includes wheel designs likened to "flatbread" or "pie rings" by Chinese media.
Delving into the inside details, the Maextro S800 houses premium features like a "starry sky" roof, individual rear seats, and a futuristic three-screen dashboard. Huawei features cutting-edge technologies, including L3 self-driving capability supported by a roof-mounted Lidar unit.
With the Huawei Maextro S800, Huawei has a target to elevate luxury EV standards, providing unparalleled design, performance, and technology to its discerning customers.
