Huawei on Thursday launched its new flagship smartphones — Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ in China — which are its first set of devices with the Pura branding. The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ provide dual satellite connectivity, allowing users to make and receive calls along with sending texts over a satellite system.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra costs CNY 9,999 (approximately INR 115,000) for the 16GB + 512GB storage variant and CNY 10,999 (about INR 126,800) for the 16GB + 1TB storage variant.

Moreover, the Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ costs CNY 7,999 (approximately INR 92,000) for the 512GB storage model and CNY 8,999 (about INR 103,000) for the 1TB storage variant.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ specifications

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ come with an OLED LTPO display at a resolution of 1,260 x 2,844 pixels on the 6.8-inch full-HD screen. The display supports 1Hz to 120Hz, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 460ppi pixel density. The handsets support hybrid dual sim (nano-sim, dual stand-by).

The handset version runs on the Harmony operating system 4.2. The chipsets in the new phones are yet to be confirmed by the company, but they are widely expected to have the latest Kirin 9010 SoC. Moreover, the screens have Kunlun glass protection.

On the back of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, a triple rear camera setup with LED flash can be spotted, a 50MP primary sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50MP macro telephoto sensor with optical image stabilisation and autofocus. Whereas, Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ has a 50MP sensor with OIS support, a 12.5MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 48MP macro telephoto camera. On the front, both phones feature a 13MP sensor.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ have Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/AGPS, NFC, GLONASS, Beidou, NavIC, and a USB Type-C charging connector. Integrated sensors include gravity, infrared (IR), hall, gyroscope, compass, ambient light, and proximity sensors. Moreover, there is also an on-screen fingerprint scanner for authentication. The handsets sport an IP68 rating for dust and water protection.

The company has included a 5,200mAh battery in the Pura 70 Ultra variant and a 5050mAh battery in the Pura 70 Pro+. They offer 100W rapid wired charging and 18W wired reverse charging. Both handsets include 80W wireless fast charging and 20W wireless reverse charging.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra measures 162.6 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm and weighs 226 g. In addition, the Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ measures 162.6 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm and weighs 220 grams.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is offered in four colours: Chanson Green, Mocha Brown, Starburst White, and Starburst Black. Moreover, the Huawei Pura 70 Pro+ is offered in three colours: Lightweave Silver, Phantom Black, and String White.
