In a jaw-dropping development in the realm of smartphones and high-end gadgets, Huawei has slashed the prices of various smartphones, and high-end devices.

While smartphone prices nowadays are skyrocketing due to their rapidly evolving industry, Huawei has dropped the rates of even its flagship devices by up to 3,000 yuan ($411) over the weekend.

Citing a post shared on Sunday from the company's official Weibo social media account, Reuters outlined that the price dip was announced on one of China's leading e-commerce platforms.

Given the consumer-friendly discount offer endorsed in a "Super Brand Day" promotion on JD.com, it was only applicable on the aforesaid platform with its validity running from Saturday evening through to midnight on Sunday.

The Chinese tech juggernaut offered discounts on its smartphones, headphones, watches and tablets, the post showed.

This move by Huawei appears to be an effort to boost sales amid intense competition from rivals like Xiaomi and Apple, who happen to be its strong contenders in both local and international markets.
