Audi, a leading German automotive manufacturer, is rumoured to be integrating Huawei's smart driving solution into its next-generation Audi A5 model.

Audi is reportedly trying to increase its Electric Vehicles (EVs’) driving experience with improved tech solutions. China is said to be one of the essential markets for Audi. The company already has two Chinese partners First Automotive Works (FAW) and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) to run its smart car business effectively in China.

Audi’s main focus is to offer a top-class driving experience to its Chinese customers as the company is joining forces with Huawei to incorporate and utilise its smart car solution for its next-generation A5 electric vehicle.

The Audi A5 is said to be the last generation belonging to the gasoline car line. It will change the A4 models in the market with powerful features and performance.

Audi Automobiles CEO Gernot Doellner announced that the company will release the next-gen Audi model in 2026. Following the A5 vehicle release, Audi will edge out the gasoline car models completely. It appears like the automaker is planning to make its last-gen gasoline EVs a perfect car with the Huawei smart car driving solutions.

However, Audi didn’t provide any official details, but the company didn’t deny the report either. It said that the firm’s Beijing-based Advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) and Research and Development (R&D) department plans to deliver the best-in-class driver assistance systems for its upcoming future models, providing a premium experience to Chinese consumers.

Audi A5 is said to progress on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) by FAW Audi and SAIC Audi. Some A5 car variants are expected to use the Huawei smart driving solution.

However, it’s unclear which solution Audi will incorporate from the Chinese tech giant. It might be the ADS 3.0 or other technologies to offer a better EV experience.
