Instagram has enhanced its post boosting feature, allowing users to amplify top-performing organic content more easily.
Earlier, certain posts on Instagram were ineligible due to copyright concerns and Meta’s system limitations. However, with the latest update, a wider range of posts are now eligible for boosting directly from the app.
What is post boosting?
For those unfamiliar, post boosting is a way to amplify Instagram content by turning it into a paid advertisement. By allocating a specific budget and target audience, Instagram users can significantly increase the visibility of their posts, potentially reaching a larger audience.

Updated post boosting feature
“Ever tried to boost content with GIFs, stickers, or copyrighted music and faced an error? Give it another go. Instagram’s latest update to boosting now means that most GIFs and stickers are now eligible to be boosted,” the Meta-owned platform stated.
Instagram confirmed that these changes to post boosting are now live in the app. Now, even posts containing GIFs and stickers can be endorsed on Instagram.
Users must have a professional account to utilise post boosting; however, music restrictions still apply, and ineligible songs can be replaced with alternative options.
Notably, users who have subscribed to Meta’s ad-free service in Europe will not be able to boost posts, likely due to a technical glitch.
This update comes as an opportunity for users to revisit older posts and optimise their promotional efforts.
