Instagram has just disclosed an update — support for adding text and additional pictures to photo and carousel posts. This new feature allows Instagram users to do more with still images.

There is a new text button that can be utilised after choosing an image to upload, and additional photos can be added in sticker form by tapping on the gallery button at the top right of the display. Stickers can be added in different shapes, including rectangles, squares, circles, hearts, or stars.

There are new fonts, animations, and effects that can be used for reels and stories, along with a simplified text tool. Users can open the text tool and click the text button to view the new font options.

Once a font is selected, separate animations and effects can be added. The new font options that Instagram is set to integrate can also be used with photos and carousels.

Previously, Instagram included support for putting up to 20 photos and videos in a carousel post, along with introducing a feature for adding a song to an Instagram profile.
