Do you know that Windows 11 has a secret setting that lets you quickly end unresponsive apps right from the taskbar? Normally, you'd have to open Task Manager, find the app, and click ‘End Task’. But through this hidden feature, you can easily skip and instantly kill these unresponsive apps.
How to enable ‘End Task’ on your taskbar
To turn on this feature, follow these simple steps:
- Open Settings
- Click on System
- Scroll down to ‘For Developers’
- Click on it
- Find ‘End Task’ and turn it on
That's it! Now, when you right-click on an app on your taskbar, you'll see the ‘End Task’ option.
This is a developer feature, you are recommended to use it in a restricted manner. If you click 'End Task', the application will forcefully terminate immediately without saving open files. However, this option is similar to the Task Manager feature, 'End Task'. It's a forced killing of the process that releases the system resources without further user interaction.
This is a convenient feature to work with applications, but utilising this option is a bit risky it can cause some data loss.
