Internet in Pakistan: Will mobile services be down in Lahore on Chehlum?

Mobile phone services will remain partially suspended on the Chehlam Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) for security reasons in parts of Punjab.

According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, the cellular services would be suspended only in the surrounding areas of processions and Majalis.

According to the details, mobile services will be suspended from 5am to 11pm in 10 districts of Punjab; which include:

  1. Rawalpindi
  2. Jhang
  3. Layyah
  4. Sargodha
  5. Bhakkar
  6. Mianwali
  7. Gujrat
  8. Gujranwala
  9. Chakwal
  10. Toba Tek Singh

Meanwhile, cellular services will remain operational in other districts of Punjab, including Lahore. The provincial government has informed the federal government following a request from the police.
