How to change app icon colours on iPhone

Long-press background

Initially, enter the jiggle mode – just long-press on the background of one of your Home Screens.

Select edit

Currently, tap edit which you will find in the top-left corner of the screen and select Customise from the menu.

Alter size (optional)

You will see there are two tabs — small and large. Choose small if you want the icons to remain the standard size otherwise tap Large to make the icons appear larger.

Change colour

In either case, you can choose Dark, in which case the icons will always be dark irrespective of whether you’re using Light or Dark mode. Or you can select Light and this results in the icons will always be light.

Move sliders

When you choose Tinted, you can move the top slider to select the base colour of your icon. You can then move the bottom slider to choose the colour’s intensity. The icons will change colour in real time so you can make fine adjustments and know exactly how it will look.

Use eyedropper tool

If there is a colour in the background that you want to match, you can select the eyeliner tool. Press, hold and move the crosshair to find the colour to match and let go to select it.
