Apple has just made plenty of customisation options available for your iPhone Home Screen, one of which is the capability to add a tint to your app icons
The tint feature provides a unique way to customise your device's appearance by replacing the colour of all your icons at once. Unlike individual icon customisation, tinting impacts every icon on your app pages, Home Screen, and App Library, making a unified look across your entire interface.
Tinting works by first desaturating all icons and then implementing a single colour overlay. This process results in a monochromatic appearance, which means you lose the original colours of your app icons and widgets, while what you receive is a more cohesive look.
It is said to be a strong tool for creating a coordinated, stylish interface that reflects your taste, so be sure to experiment with it.

To select a tint colour, you can also utilise an eyedropper tool to choose a shade from your wallpaper, or manually adjust hue and saturation using two slider bars. This flexibility lets you perfectly match your icons to your background or create a contrasting colour scheme.
It is to be noted that the tint setting is universal. You can't implement different tints to different app pages or sections of your device. Whatever colour you select will be applied everywhere icons appear. Gadinsider has a step-by-step guide to tint your icons in iOS 18 on iPhone.
