Call history search feature in iOS 18

The hidden call history search feature allows users to filter their call logs by contact, making it easier to find any important missed call or recall when the last time you spoke to someone was.

Gadinsider has compiled a step-by-step guide to use this feature and make the most of call history.

How to search call history in iOS 18

Access call history

Open the Phone app on your iPhone and tap the “Recents” tab at the bottom of the screen. This section now features an enhanced search option along with all your recent calls.

Locate search feature

Look for a search bar at the top of the Recents screen. Though it looks simple but is a powerful tool for filtering the call history. It allows you to quickly find specific calls or contacts without scrolling the entire call log.

Enter your search criteria

Click on the search bar and type your search criteria such as the name of the contact you're looking for or phone number.

Start your search

Once the search criteria have been entered, tap the Search button on the keyboard that prompts your iPhone to filter your call history based on the information provided.

View results

At last, you will see a list of calls related to your search criteria. Now, tap “See All” to access a complete view of your interactions with that contact.
