Apple unveiled the iOS 18 update globally a week after the iPhone 16 launch event, bringing a host of exciting new features and enhancements.
This latest software update didn’t include the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features that aim to revolutionise the iPhone experience such as Siri enhancements, Notification summaries for Messages, and more.
Apple later revealed that these cutting-edge features will not be available until the iOS 18.1 update, leaving iPhone users in anticipation. However, a recent report provides a tentative timeline on when to expect the iOS 18.1 arrival along these features.

iOS 18.1 release date
During the Apple “It’s Glowtime” 2024 event, the tech giant announced that the iOS 18.1 update will arrive in October; however, it didn’t mention a specific date.
Notably, Apple released the previous updates, including iOS 17.1, iOS 16.1, iOS 15.1, and iOS 14.1 between October 20 and 25.

- iOS 16.1: October 24, 2022
- iOS 15.1: October 25, 2021
- iOS 14.1: October 20, 2020
Based on these timings and as per MacRumours reports, iOS 18.1 update is likely to arrive after October 20.
Which iPhones will get iOS 18.1 update?
iOS 18.1 update will be available to all Apple devices that support iOS 18. However, Apple Intelligence features will be available to select devices such as all iPhone 16 models, including iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will also get these Apple Intelligence features.
