As the latest iOS update, iOS 18, has been released and if you're the one who's always equipped with Apple's top-tier products and services, then you should hear this: iMessage has a bug which could potentially result in data loss of your iMessage.

Individuals using the latest iPhone models are more likely to treat themselves with an Apple Watch and share watch faces with their acquaintances through iMessage.

Citing 9to5Mac, DigitalTrends reported that the bug comes into action when you reply in a threaded message to someone who shares a watch face with you from the Apple Watch.

It's been Apple Watches' legacy feature to let users effortlessly share their customised watch faces with others via Messages or Mail, and the sharing feature is great as long as someone is willing to get your personalised watch face configuration.

However, with an unidentified error in place, if someone shares a watch face with you, you better not respond with a threaded reply. Doing so is reportedly resulting in the activation of a bug which will eventually cause the iMessage app to repeatedly crash.

It should be noted that the crash thing gets triggered only for that one particular chat which responded with a threaded message. The flabbergasting part of the adversity is that the bug affects both the users.

If a user replies from iOS 18.1, which is currently available in beta version, it won't trigger the bug; however, if the recipient not on iOS 18.1 responds to the shared watch face, the Messages app will crash on the iOS 18.1 beta, iPadOS 18.1 beta, and macOS 15.1 beta.
