iPhone 16 lineup is widely anticipated to come with new buttons and undergo a camera redesign. Apple is reportedly planning to include a Capture button in the lineup specifically for video recording. Recently surfaced CAD sketches of the iPhone 16 provide insights into the design elements of the standard model.

The renders showcase a slimmer vertical camera layout for the iPhone 16, departing from the diagonal arrangement seen in current models. An Action button and the rumoured Capture button can be seen in alleged schematics.

Gadgets360, citing tipster Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) shared purported CAD renders of the iPhone 16 on X (formerly Twitter). These leaked renders suggest a camera unit like the iPhone X, featuring a vertical housing for dual camera sensors. Additionally, the flash unit is positioned outside of the camera bump. The vanilla model of the iPhone 15 has a diagonal camera arrangement.

Furthermore, the rumoured Capture button is situated below the power button on the left side of the iPhone 16. This button is speculated to facilitate video recording, potentially featuring pressure sensitivity to enable adjustments for focus, zooming in, and zooming out. It's anticipated that Apple will introduce Spatial Video recording to the base models with the new camera layout, a feature currently exclusive to iPhone 15 Pro models.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to launch in the second half of 2024, rumoured to consist of five distinct models: iPhone 16 SE, iPhone 16 Plus SE, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumoured to be equipped with an A18 Bionic chip based on TSMC's 3nm process.
