WhatsApp users across Pakistan continued to face issues in sending media files through the messaging app on Saturday.

There were reports that users—primarily from Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, and Rawalpindi—were unable to upload media files. According to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, 52% of users complained about difficulties in sending voice messages, 34% reported issues in sending messages, and 13% mentioned experiencing general problems with the app.

It should be noted that this is not the first time people have faced issues with the Meta-owned instant messaging app. Last month, numerous users across Pakistan reported difficulties in sending and receiving media files, such as voice notes, photos, and videos, on the popular messaging application while using their mobile networks.

Complaints included delays or failures in downloading media files, with some users receiving error messages from WhatsApp. However, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said there was no issue with WhatsApp or any social media apps currently. If anyone experienced such issues lately, it may have been due to a "technical glitch".

Later, Meta clarfied that "everything was working fine globally", adding the disruption could have been due to the country’s internal internet issue. Meta had nothing to do with the previous disruption.
