As the new year approaches, a fraction of Google Messages users have observed an issue where they're unable to schedule messages into 2024.

Some individuals attempting to schedule messages, particularly for occasions like "Happy New Year," encountered limitations when trying to select dates beyond today in the calendar interface within Google Messages. Future dates appear greyed out, except for December 31, 2024, which oddly remains available for scheduling.

Even attempting manual entry using the keyboard displays a red error message stating, "Date not allowed."

For users facing this problem, a temporary solution may be to use the preset option "Tomorrow, 8:00 AM" until the issue is resolved. It remains to be seen if this issue persists upon entering 2024, while beta updates are expected to resume next week after the holiday hiatus to address this issue.

It's essential to note that this issue appears to be specific to Google Messages and doesn't affect other Android apps like Gmail that offer similar date picker or scheduling features.

Although there have been a few reports of this issue, the problem isn't universal.
