Kuwait has temporarily stopped its electronic visa (e-Visa) service for citizens of 53 countries. This move is part of the country’s plan to upgrade and improve the visa system, making it easier for travellers in the future. The affected nations include the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and several European and Asian countries.
While the e-Visa program is suspended, travellers from these countries can still get a visa on arrival at Kuwait International Airport.
The process is straightforward, and visitors will be issued a single-entry tourist visa valid for three months.

Steps to obtain Visa on arrival in Kuwait
To apply for a visa on arrival in Kuwait, travellers must bring:
- A passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
- A return or onwards ticket.
- 3 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD) for the visa fee.
Travellers must also provide a valid residential address for their stay and should not be on Kuwait’s blacklist. Kuwaiti authorities aim to ensure a smooth transition during this upgrade, so visitors are not heavily inconvenienced.
The suspension of the e-Visa service is temporary, but no timeline has been shared for its return.
