The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government Monday announced an increase in the price of petrol for the next fortnight, taking the rate to Rs293.94 per litre.
The price of petrol has been moved up to Rs293.94 per litre after an increase of Rs4.53, a press release from the Finance Division read Monday night, noting that the surge has taken place due to price variations in the international market.
The new prices will come into effect from 12am tonight (April 16).
"The prices of Petroleum products have seen an increasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight. The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price variations in the international market," the statement ossued by the Finane Division read.

It should be noted that the petrol price in Pakistan is revised every 15 days adjusting them to the trend of global oil prices and the rupee’s exchange rate to the dollar.
