The Meta-owned messaging platform just received the latest update earlier this week, with the most notable feature being voice message transcriptions.

If the development has anything to go by, then gone are the days when it was bothersome for people —or even for regular users—with ruined smartphone speakers to receive voice messages and be able to decipher them.

The new WhatsApp update is released across platforms including Android and iOS.

Voice message transcription feature on WhatsApp

The feature could greatly benefit users in crowded, bustling settings as well as busy work environments with pin-drop silence where users find it hard to listen to voice messages.

End-to-end encrypted for utmost user privacy, the Voice Transcript feature on WhatsApp is claimed by the company to be free from external servers or any outside intrusion accessing users' voice messages to ensure privacy.

Initially, the voice message transcription feature was rolled out for English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian, and it should be noted that the feature was spotted in the beta version of the app.
