The Punjab government has announced a relief package for inflation-weary citizens, reducing the power tariff by Rs14 per unit for those consuming up to 500 units of electricity.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif unveiled the package, stating that consumers using up to 500 units will receive a Rs14 discount on their August and September bills.
This relief comes as the government reallocates Rs45 billion from the development budget to provide support to the people of Punjab. It is estimated that the Rs50 billion relief package will benefit 25 million individuals.
