LG has quit the phone industry for a long time, but the renowned TV maker is at the brink of releasing a foldable display.
While LG's latest technology has not hit the market, it has reportedly been made available to its employees, with the device featuring a display expandable and compressible, whatever be the user requirement.
The latest news shared on LG’s Korean website unveiled the “world’s first ” stretchable display that can expand up to 50% of its original size. LG’s display prototype is capable of transferring its screen from 12 inches to 18 inches.

Its previous prototypes arrived in 2022, the difference between its predecessor and this version is the ability to stretch, as the earlier variant could only expand up to 20%. Its screen consists of RGB colours and 100 pixels per inch.
LG claims that its new prototype can handle up to 10,000 stretches without any kind of degradation in its quality. For real-world use, this type of gadget can be used in places where it needs to adhere to certain types of display, like those featured in vehicles and can be implemented into the head-gears.
While it's an exciting advancement, it's a type of device one should grab at the earliest. As it is in store for display, hope are high regarding a future with advanced display technologies.
