As announced previously, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is up to allowing user be more expressive of their vibrant thoughts and feelings with the help of Lottie support for stickers.

Besides Lottie sticker, or animated images, WhatsApp is also up to a separate assortment of animated emojis in a bid to instill an element of personalised user experience.

With the aforementioned features deep into development phase, it looks as though WhatsApp is now willing to grant users more control over animations and emojis by integrating an option to manage them.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature was spotted on the latest Android update of the WhatsApp beta.

As depicted in the picture above, the messaging app is also exploring a feature to let users choose if they want the animated images to be autoplayed or not, and this option is expected to be added right within the app settings.

The addition of such an option will now snatch away all animations for emojis, stickers, and avatars. Another fruitful bliss this feature would bring is that user will finally be able to toggle autoplay settings for some animated content. Note that the toggle button only disables animations for emojis, stickers, and avatars, and does not work for GIFs.

Animated stickers on WhatsApp for iPhone?

Since this feature is under development and exclusive to the beta programme, it's uncertain whether the company will launch it across platforms or only for Android or iPhone.
