The frenzy revolving around the bygone WWDC 2024 appears to have faded, but the gradual emergence of feature-rich snippets regarding all the announced software updates for Apple's flagship devices revives the lost shine.
The snippet we're referring to brings a good deal about the latest macOS update, macOS Sequoia. Surfaced recently, a report claims that a wide range of apps in macOS Sequoia support the new HDMI Passthrough feature.

By turning its toggle on, users will be able to "Play supported audio in Dolby Atmos and other Dolby Audio formats using HDMI Passthrough when connected to a supported device," says Apple.
The audio connectivity feature is already available under multiple functionalities of macOS 15, including Apple's TV, Music, and QuickTime Player apps.
Once the software update is widely rolled out, this would prove to be a much-needed aid those Mac users who are keen to connect their Mac to external devices compatible with Dolby Atmos.
Utilising an HDMI cable would allow users to decrypt and display a crispier and more immersive Dolby Atmos audio, and signal the attached video to a connected TV.
macOS Sequoia release date
Although the software update is in the beta phase at the moment, considering the timeframe Apple provided for macOS Sequoia, it will be released in the fall, with the probability of public beta releases being high for the end of the ongoing month.
