MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 8400, a cutting-edge chipset for the mid-range smartphone market. This latest innovation promises enhanced energy efficiency and delivers a high-end experience at reasonable rates. 

Xiaomi has disclosed that the forthcoming Redmi Turbo 4 will be the first handset to feature the Dimensity 8400-Ultra. The release date is poised to be announced on January 1, 2025.

MediaTek Dimensity 8400 specs

The recently launched Dimensity 8400 chipset features an all-big-core design, incorporating Arm Cortex-A725 cores and with a 3.25GHz clock speed. This setup offers a 10% boost in single-core performance while reducing power consumption by 35%, ensuring efficient yet powerful performance for everyday tasks.

In terms of graphics, the integrated Arm Mali-G720 GPU offers a 24% increase in graphical performance and reduces power consumption by 42%, ensuring an exhilarating gaming experience. The launch of StarSpeed Engine dynamically streamlines resource allocation in real time to meet the demand of each game. This engine ensures smooth gameplay at 60 fps, keeping devices cool even during extended gaming sessions.

In addition, the Dimensions 8400 is equipped with the robust MediaTek NPU 880, improving artificial intelligence (AI) performance for multitasking, such as image generation.
