Shortly after X (formerly Twitter) reeled through a massive wave of criticism regarding the grave incident of shooting at the Donald Trump rally, Meta too has now fallen into the political chasm with regard to its proprietary AI tool.
The development involves Meta AI responding to a user's prompt enquiring whether Trump was shot at the rally or not. The chatbot responded in disagreement with the veracity of the assassination attempt on former US president Donald Trump.
Not acknowledging the folly of the AI model at play, Meta now attributed the response to the malfunctioning technology powering the chatbot.

The Trump shooting incident led to the rise of controversies engulfing the entire social media landscape with hashtags like "#falseflag" and "Staged" trending on Musk-owned microblogging site.
In an official blog published on Tuesday, eta’s global head of policy Joel Kaplan dubbed Meta AI’s responses inquiry regarding the shooting "unfortunate".
The Meta official said that initially Meta AI was trained not to respond to prompts inquiring about the supposed assassination, but this responsive behaviour was changed after the matter became known to the general public.
On behalf of the company, he also acknowledged that “in a small number of cases, Meta AI continued to provide incorrect answers, including sometimes asserting that the event didn’t happen – which we are quickly working to address.”
