Meta and Spotify reportedly collaborate on a new music-sharing feature for the Instagram app. New findings suggested that the companies are checking the feature that would let users continuously share what music they are listening to through Instagram's Notes.
This new report was revealed by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, who often searches for unreleased features while under development.
While companies like Meta and Spotify constantly test new concepts, the discovery doesn’t necessarily mean the feature would be released to the public in the future.
Taking to Threads, Paluzzi uploaded a screenshot showing a new option that would let someone continuously share their music from Spotify rather than choosing a song from Instagram's catalogue. “You can stop sharing at any time,” the message indicated.

If released, the integration would create a development launched a little over a year ago, when Instagram integrated the capability to share 30-second song clips to Notes.
Meta collaboration with Spotify could automate these song postings, offering Instagram content even when its users are actively engaged with another app.
The feature is suggestive of the social networking activity that’s currently available within Spotify’s app. Today, Spotify lets users “connect with Facebook” to view what friends are streaming in a separate tab on its desktop app.
Moreover, Spotify has checked a Community feature that would allow users to look in real-time at what others were streaming on mobile, while that has yet to be released.
