Meta began to tag images with ‘Made with artificial intelligence AI’ a few months back, but later on, all the photography enthusiasts grumbled about the platform as it had been applying multiple labels to actual images, where they have utilised basic editing tools and changed it to 'AI info'.

Due to constant criticism and fuss created after AI, which was utilised in a photo, the platform has now decided to modify the tag to ‘AI info’ in all the Meta apps.

According to the platform, the previously introduced label wasn’t clear which baffled the users that indicated the image along with the tag, which is not particularly made up with AI, but created with the assistance of third-party tools.

Meta further added “Like others across the industry, we’ve found that our labels based on these indicators weren’t always aligned with people’s expectations and didn’t always provide enough context.

For example, some content that included minor modifications using AI, such as retouching tools, included industry-standard indicators that were then labelled ‘Made with AI."

However, the platform is reportedly not changing the essential technology to detect AI usage and its label in images. Additionally, Meta is still utilising the technical metadata standards including C2PA and IPTC which entails a brief description of AI tools usage.

But, still, the platform is expected to push the boundaries towards excellence by introducing a new label, which would help users in detecting the image keenly.

Meta’s spokesperson shed light on AI Info and acclaimed “‘AI Info’ can encompass content that was made and/or modified with AI so the hope is that this is more in line with people’s expectations, while we work with companies across the industry to improve the process.”

Meta is likely to meet user’s expectations this time, by changing the AI feature which would cater to the unique requirements of users, especially photography enthusiasts.
