Meta is ready to release an app for its Quest 3 headsets that allows you to take measurements and visualize changes in your home. The utility app, known as Layout, will be displayed in the Quest 3 library as part of the v68 update.
Meta confirmed that you can use the ‘Layout app’ to measure furniture around your home, letting you to get a sense of how much room you have for a new couch or TV without using your measuring tape.
Moreover, you can utilise the ‘Layout app’ to place virtual objects in a real-world environment along with trying out the levelling tool to ensure the image you just hung up isn’t curved.

Along with the ‘Layout app,’ the v68 update includes Meta’s experimental artificial intelligence (AI) assistant already on the company’s Ray-Ban smart glasses.
Interestingly, you can ask AI questions on Meta Quest 3 app about what you’re seeing in your real-world environment, like what kind of shirt would look nice with your new pair of pants.
‘Layout app’ availability
‘Layout app’ is currently only available in English and the US and Canada. A decent update is also set to be added with the update offering the ability to install multiple games and handle them from a new 'Downloads' tab in your library.
Additionally, Meta includes the ability to pair Touch controllers from within the Quest 3 headset (instead of from the newly renamed Meta Horizon app), along with new audio-level balance tools.
