Social media giant Meta is testing the waters of AI chatbots, rolling out a new feature in its WhatsApp and Instagram apps for users in India and Africa. This comes as the race to develop advanced AI heats up.
The feature, currently in beta testing, allows users to interact with an AI chatbot directly through the app's search bar. Imagine being able to ask questions or have conversations within your favorite social media platforms!
Beyond just chatting, the AI can also help you discover new content. For example, searching for "picturesque landscapes" might display relevant reels and photos shared by other users.
While this functionality resembles popular AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Meta assures users their privacy is protected. Interactions with the AI chatbot and searches will be confidential, and WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption remains in place for private messages and calls.
