Meta is offering users a £24.99 interest-free monthly instalment payment plan for the Quest 3 VR headset, including two years' worth of Meta Gaming Plus subscription and its extended warranty.

This price is for the 128GB model, with the 512GB option available for just 10% more.

These loan packages are offered by Affirm, a popular 'buy now, pay later' service that has gained traction in recent years.

This arrangement could help Meta attract users who are unwilling to pay the whole price upfront. It could also serve as a promotion for the Meta Quest Plus service, which adds two games to the user’s library every month, keeping them there as long as the subscription is maintained.

This bundle joins a growing list of similar packages on the market. Microsoft has used 'Xbox All Access' to promote the Game Pass, and Apple’s loan-based iPhone upgrade plan includes Apple Care Plus.

The Quest 3 is a virtual reality (VR) headset developed by Reality Labs, a division of Meta Platforms. Revealed on 1 June 2023 and released on 10 October, it serves as a sequel to the Quest 2, marking another step in Meta's virtual reality ambitions.
