Microsoft is gearing up to host a special Copilot event “Wave 2” on September 16, mainly focusing on the “next phase of Copilot.”

The upcoming event will be hosted by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella along with AI at work Vice President Jared Spataro on LinkedIn. The event will start at 11 AM ET, focusing on the business side of Microsoft’s Copilot offerings.

Microsoft Copilot's upcoming features

According to the revealed details, Microsoft is expected to rebrand Copilot in its Office apps. For instance, Copilot in Word might be retitled as Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word.

However, there is a possibility that the company might also ditch the “Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365” branding for “Microsoft Copilot 365.”

The tech giant is also expected to unveil more features for the consumer subscription for Microsoft’s AI offerings called Copilot Pro.

The $20 monthly subscription provides Copilot features in Word, like a business-focused subscription, but it hasn’t seen new features since it launched earlier this year. Notably, it also removed a generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) Builder feature from Copilot Pro in June.

With these features, the tech giant will aim to engage more businesses to sign up for the $30 per user per month pricing.

The event shows the company’s determination to spread Copilot features and services widely.
