Microsoft has announced an innovative feature for its Edge browser called “Copilot Vision” that redefines the web browsing experience.

Currently available in a limited preview for select Copilot Pro subscribers in the US, Copilot Vision brings contextually aware AI capabilities.

Microsoft’s Copilot Vision

Copilot Vision enables Microsoft's AI companion to analyse live web pages in real time, providing personalised insights and interactions.

In a blog post, the Copilot team stated: “When you choose to enable Copilot Vision, it sees the page you’re on, it reads along with you, and you can talk through the problem you’re facing together.”

“Browsing no longer needs to be a lonely experience with just you and all your tabs,” the blog post noted.

Unlike traditional AI tools, Copilot Vision doesn't rely on user queries or preloaded data. Instead, it collaborates with users to enhance their browsing experience.

How Copilot Vision works

The Copilot Vision is embedded directly into the Edge browser, integrating with Microsoft's Copilot ecosystem.

To activate Copilot Vision, users are required to grant it permission to access and analyse web page content.

Once enabled, Copilot Vision can view text, images, and multimedia, offering suggestions, answering questions, and even generating insights based on user’s browsing activity.

Copilot Vision pricing

Priced at $20 per month, the Copilot Vision is part of the Copilot Pro suite and offers users priority access to premium AI features.
